Embracing Winter!

We decided that it's time we stop fighting the snow and complaining about the cold. We are bucking up and embracing the winter. I went out and got all the extra gear we would need for snow play! The kids of course loved the idea of playing in the snow, we lOVE the idea of breathing fresh air (salt lake valley air= sick kids)! Park City here we come!

Abbie was on cloud nine the whole trip!

The kids love walking around knee deep in snow. Ben and I loved watching our kids play together and joining in the fun! I am pretty sure I won king of the hill (I can say that because no else blogs.. haha!)

Cross Country Skiing at Soldier Hollow!

While in Park City, we drove around the mountain to Midway UT to go tubing. I went in and signed all the waivers and was ready to go out and get the kids. I just decided to ask what other options they have for families (the twins are too young to tube so we would've had to take turns watching them in the snow). They offered CROSS COUNTRY SKIING...I thought...... hmm maybe. Ben and I went skiing last year for our anniversary, we could teach the kids... haha! I asked how much.... $29!! for the whole family and gear! They even have a little sled we could throw the twins in and pull them. I knew when the lady gave the me the price that Ben would be all over that. It would save us $40! Wahoo. We bundled up, got our skis, and headed out to the trails. It took us a while to get started, but we had a blast and Abigail picked it up so quickly! She said, " THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!! BETTER THAN DISNEYLAND!!"

Isabelle and I took up the rear of the troops and we had a good time with a few tears here and there. She is a crack up. She was so mad that I would take a pic of her when she fell down. I had to explain to her that when she is 16 and in the Olympics racing, that she will ask if she ever fell, then I will show her this picutre. She thought that was so funny! No more tears from her. We just kept on trucking. Watch out for the Cobb sisters, Winter Olympics 2022!

We had a great time, it was like pulling teeth to get Abbie off the course, its all she can talk about. She went around the track more times than anyone in the family! So FUN!

Park City 2011

As always we start getting stir crazy when the winter pretends to turn to spring for a couple of days. We took a drive up to Park City last weekend and enjoyed breathing fresh CLEAN air. While driving home we couldn't stop talking about how much fun it would be to just embrace the winter and have a fun weekend in the snow. That's all the go ahead I needed. I got home and looked up a cheap condo we could rent. We packed up our gear and headed back up on Wednesday for the weekend. The girls had Firday out of school so we just excused them for Thurday. What a bLaSt!

Who knew a cold front would come in and it would be minus 4 degrees! (luckily it warmed up to a whopping 19 degrees before we left!)We weren't going to let that stop us. We bundled up and went out for some fun family SnOw time!

Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Your Christmas cards are still sitting on my kitchen counter with last years, waiting for me to get stamps and proper addresses. Last years pic was fantastic (main family pic seen above)... this year we ran outside in the freezing cold after church and took a quick snap shot. It will work, at least it proves we are all alive and well.

I will post pics and stories about Christmas and the whole 2010 year soon.... maybe!
